at times right up to the close of the last century. Another relic of the past was a small box that had been left by Lieutenant Ingalls of the British forces, who was on guard at the Cook place for some time after the battle.

The most interesting of all the reminders of the past was the Casselman home itself. The heavy beams supporting the floor had been hewn out of solid logs with a broad-axe one hundred years before my visit. The lumber forming the floor had been whipsawed by the grandfather
