I\I. A., rector of the parish of
Woodstock, Out., was born
December 13th, iMi, at Cincinnati,
Ohio. He received his early education
at Parkfield School, Liverpool. After
this he attended Gonville &. Cains'
College, Cambridge University, F;ng-
land, and graduated B.A. in iSS5 with
honors. He then came to Canada and
was ordained to the ministry of the
English Church. He was ordained
deacon in iSS5 by Bishop Baldwin, and
was appointed to the parish of Durham,
Grey County. He was ordained to the
priesthood in 1SS6, and, in iSSS, was

appointed curate at Woodstock, and subsequently rector. He received the degree of M.A. in iSSS. Mr. Farthing is a member of the Executive Commit-tee of the diocese of Huron, a member of the Masonic and I. O. F. fraternities, being chaplain of Woodstock Court. He was General Secretary of the Cambridge University Church of England Temperance Society, and a member of the Ely Diocesan Temperance Committee. Mr. Farthing was married in September, 1591, to Elizabeth Marv, daughter of John C. Kemp, manager of the Bank of Commerce, Toronto.
