Falls South, Ont., was born
there April list, 2849. He
received his education at the public and
High schools of his native place. At
the age of seventeen he went to 'N is-
consin, U.S., and engaged in the dry
goods and boot and shoe business,
where he remained seven years. He
then returned to Niagara Palls South,
where he engaged in the dry goods
business and was eminently successful,
and was enabled to retire from business
in ISS2. 'Ir. Lowell is a member of
the Masonic fraternity, being a member
of Mount Nebo Chapter No. -6 R.A.M.,

also of St. 'Mark's Lodge No. ion A.F. & A.'-\I., also Murton Lodge of Perfection A. & A.S.R., Harnilton. He is also a member of A.O.U.)Al., and of the Select Knights of Canada. He was made Justice of the Peace in zSS7, is a Liberal in politics, and president of the Liberal Association forWelland County. In religion he is an adherent of the Presbyterian Church, and he gives liberally to the church and benevolent objects. He was married 'Iay 29th, iSS5, to 'Miss Mary Whybra, of Niagara Falls South.
