FREDERICK WILLIAM SCHWENDIMANN , Drayton, Out., was born oil

March 23rd, 1562, in Waterloo town-ship, County of Waterloo. His parents were natives of Switzerland and came to Canada in i86o. He was educated at the public school of 'Waterloo Count}-. In early life he learned the carpenter trade, at which he worked in various places for a number of years. In 1878 he removed to Drayton, where he began operations as a builder and contractor, manufacturer of doors, sashes, etc., carrying on an extensive business. He has built many churches and school houses throughout the country. He also built the Agricultural College building, Guelph, and additions to the London and Hamilton asylums. In 1884, in company with W. H. Whaley, Esq., Mr. Sch-wendimanll founded a private bank. He has been a member of the Town Council for several years, and was reeve in 1889 and 189o. I11 religion he is a Presbyterian, and is a respected and influential citizen. He is president of the Alechanics Institute of Drayton. He was married July 31st, 1878, to Miss Margaret Meldrum.

ATHUR HENRY HARRIS, L.D.S.,

Toronto, was born ill Vorkshire,

Eng., on the loth of august, 1866. His father is the Rev. Henry Harris, Methodist minister, Toronto. He was educated at the public schools of Toronto and the Guelph Grammar School. After matriculating in dentistry, he entered the dental office of J. H. Clarke, Kingston, in 1882, where lie pre-pared for the Royal College of Dental Surgeons, Toronto, which he entered in 188-, and from which lie graduated in 1886. On the completion of his course, he began to practice in Toronto, where he has already gained a very large and growing connection. Dr. Harris is a member of a musical family, and is an accomplished violinist. He takes great interest in athletic sports, and is president of the well kno-,yll Riverdale Cricket Club of Toronto. He is in politics a Conservative, and takes an active part in election contests. He also belongs to the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. He was married in iSS9 to Jane, daughter of the late Thomas Taylor, paper manufacturer, Toronto.
